Before bringing your pants for tailoring, especially your jeans, it is best you wash them a couple of times first which will help the jeans or slacks to hold their shape once they are tailored.

If your tailoring requires removing a good deal of fabric from the length of your pants then it is important you are aware of the fact that removing a lot of fabric can ultimately change the overall cut and look of the pant. In our efforts to provide you with the perfect tailoring for your jeans or slacks, our tailors will pin up all the changes to be made and all alterations to allow you to try on the garment and see how it will look with all the suggested alterations before finalizing the tailoring of your garment.

Be certain to bring with you to your fitting here at Jimmy’s Cleaners and Alterations, the shoes you plan to wear most often with your jeans or slacks so that we can shorten the length to appropriately suit your shoes of preference as well.

If your pant legs are excessively baggy then our experienced tailors can adjust the inseam for you to a more fitted or skinny look to provide a more flattering fit of your jeans or pants.

Finally, we can alter the waist of your pants to give them a more perfect fit and look. If the waistband on your jeans or pants is gaping, we can most assuredly redefine the look with our specialized alterations. However, we prefer not to take in a waistline more than 1.5 to 2” since doing so can greatly change the shape, the look and the positioning of any pockets that may be part of the design of the pant.
