You should only gently swish or cycle the bathing suit in a very mild laundry detergent with a bit of white vinegar and then be sure to rinse the garment very well. Preferably you should wash and rinse your delicate bathing suit with cool water rather than water that is too warm.

Finally, though most people rely heavily upon wearing suntan oils and lotions for protecting their skin from the very harmful UV rays of the sun, these products can greatly stain and even ruin your precious favorite bathing suit. You should take necessary steps to avoid direct contact of these products to your swim suit. Sunscreen is essential to safe and healthy summer beach tanning, but can be quite detrimental to your bathing suit. So, we highly recommend you use caution when using suntan oils and lotions.   Don’t forget, as a little side thought, that when using sunscreen dermatologists and doctors highly recommend the use of a product with a minimum SPF of 30.
