Freshening up your home is a great way to welcome in the warmer weather and sunshine. Hard to Reach Spaces

It’s important to make your first priority cleaning underneath and behind in hard-to-reach spaces that you don’t normally reach. Be sure to move the furniture to get a thorough cleaning such as sofas, beds, tv stands, desks, and the like. This can be a difficult task but tackling this a couple times a year will feel rewarding once you’re finished! You’ll find all sorts of neat stuff that you thought you lost, and probably some things that you wish you hadn’t found. Focus on removing the dust and any larger objects like rubberbands, paper clips, coins, etc then simply run the vacuum. If you’re in “extreme clean” mode and have hard surface floors, use a light mop after you vacuum to get the finest dust particles.

This is also a good time to get out the step ladder and remove any dust buildup from your ceiling, moldings and ceiling corners, light fixtures and your ceiling fan. Focusing your attention to things that are not at eye level is the goal here. Also, dust and wipe clean your baseboards.

Windows and Doors

Remove all curtains and drapes from their mounts and bring them in to Jimmy’s Cleaners for a fresh cleaning. Professional care of draperies will help keep them looking great without any shrinkage or loss of color. Doing this once or twice a year is recommended to help control the air quality in your home and extend the life of your draperies.

Take time to get a great clean on your window seals and your doors. You’d be surprised how much dust can collect in the areas around your windows. Be sure to clean on top of the window molding and also the trim areas. A mixture of equal parts vinegar and water with a teaspoon of cornstarch works great for cleaning the windows themselves. End up with a streak-free shine! If you have modern windows, be sure to clean the tracks that the windows slide on as well.

Bedrooms

The bedroom is probably an area you tend to keep clean, but when’s the last time you had your bedspreads professionally cleaned? Make it a part of your spring cleaning to get all your bedspreads and linens professionally cleaned for the freshest, brightest colors possible. If you have white bedspreads that have started to yellow, most of the time we can work to get those colors back to their nearly original shape.
