Be a Clutter Buster!
We normally think of rabbits when it comes to multiplication, but do you know what multiplies faster than rabbits? Clutter. It’s amazing how quickly things can build up. At Jimmy’s Cleaners, we love helping you make your life more convenient, stress-free and enjoyable. That’s why today we’re bringing you a list of 5 Fall Clutter Busting Tips. If these tips are helpful to you, grab a friend and go. If not, kudos!

5 Fall Clutter Busting Tips

1. CLOTHING
If you’re like most Americans, closet space comes at a high premium. It’s time for some tough self-love: how realistic is it that you will ever wear that______________ again? If it’s a matter of staining or repair, put it in a small pile for your favorite dry cleaner, and load that basket or box into your vehicle as soon as you’re done sorting.

2. DAMAGED FURNITURE & HOME ACCESSORIES

Just as we discussed with your closet space, broken and damaged furniture and accessories takes up a lot of space. When it comes to holding on to these items in hopes of repairing them, remember, those good intentions need to have a firm expiration date. Convince yourself that someone else who needs it more will be thrilled to have it. Then pile it in the vehicle for your run to Goodwill.

3. EXPIRED FOOD, SUPPLEMENTS & MEDICINE

So…if the point of food is nutrition, it might seem counterproductive to hold on to expired food products, no? Same goes for expired supplements and medicine. Don’t think twice. Toss it all!

4. GIFTS

I think we all know those people whose homes are monuments to other people’s taste. Their homes are filled with odd and unusual objects they truly dislike – simply because they’re too afraid they may offend a gift giver. We give you permission: it’s your life, and your home. A gift that doesn’t suit either doesn’t get to stay. If that means an awkward conversation should a gift giver question you about your policy, well, you decide; is it better than a lifetime of awkward pretending?

5.  MAKEUP, GROOMING & HYGIENE PRODUCTS

Most makeup products have a shelf-life of a year. Some, like mascara, are just a fraction of that time. As for grooming and hygiene products, always check the label. Out of sight, out of mind can be a big problem here. If it’s out of date, toss it. If you never use it, toss it.
